LECTURED IN SYDNEY
Auckland Boys Selected (N.Z Press Association/ AUCKLAND, Nov. 15. An opportunity to hear the world's leading space research scientists has come the way of two Auckland schoolboys, D. J. Millener and T. W. Schnackenberg. sixth-form pupils at the Auckland Grammar School. They will attend a special summer course at the University of Sydney in January, organised by Professor a Messel, head of the School of Physics and director of the Nuclear Research Tcundation within the University of Sydney. Two of the lecturers will be Dr. W von Braun, the American space rocket expert. and Professor H. Bondi, the British mathematicianastronomer. This is th* first course of it* kind to be held. There were 150 schoolboy winners selected to attend from more than 1000 applications from 330 New South Wale* departmental, private, and Independent school*.
Th* series of 20 lectures is entitled: "A Journey Through Space and the Atom.” Millener, aged 17, is a son of Dr. L. H? Millener, senior lecturer in botany at Auckland University SehnaekenW. eon of Mr E C- Sehnaekenberg, investigating engineer at the Ministry of Work*. This year, tn* two bey* specialised tn mathematics and acience, and are top of th* lows,--sixth form.
