Colombo Plan delegates meeting at Kuala Lumpur have strongly recommended that more emphasis should be put upon training southern Asian technicians in the region, rather than sending them abroad. ~ This recommendation will be discussed at the second phase of the conference, the week-long Ministers’ meeting, opening on Monday, The 21-nation delegation yesterday finished the fort-night-long first phase of the conference, in which they prepared reports for submission to the Ministers. The Ministers’ agenda shows that they will first review Colombo Plan progress over the last year before discussing technical training, technical facilities available and information dissemination among southern Asian countries.
