Serpentine Deposits
(N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, Nov. 12. Deposits of serpentine rock, estimated to be sufficient to supply the needs of North Island phosphate w’orks for the next 300 years, are available on d’Urville Island, at the northern tip of the Marlborough Sounds. According to Mr R. H. Kawharu. who farms the area on the southern end of the island w’here the deposits are located, one company has shown interest in mining the serpentine.
