DELAYED DC-6
Arrival At Singapore (N.Z. Press Association, AUCKLAND, Nov. 12. A Royal New Zealand Air Force DC-fl, which was delayed at Darwin on the way to Singapore with 54 Army men and their families, has arrived in Singapore. An Air Force officer at Whenuapai said today he had no technical details about the delay, but the aircraft had continued its flight and reached its destination. The commanding officer of the First Batallion, Lieuten-ant-Colonel L. A. Pearce, and his family, were among the passengers on the delayed flight. Aircraft on the battalion air lift are still running to schedule. A further party of Second Battalion men and families returned to Whenuapai this morning and there was a First Battalion outward flight in the evening. An earlier report said there was a small muffled explosion on the DCS two hours out from Darwin. The troops lived in a Darwin camp and the families stayed in a hotel. *
