Golfer’s Son Dies
(N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Nov. 12. Peter Toogood, aged 31. captain of the Tasmanian amateur golf team, was playing in the Australian amateur foursomes championship at the Royal Melbourne course yesterday when he received the tragic news of his one-year-old son’s death. Last Sunday, his wife gave birth to his second son, and he left his 12-month-old son, Peter Anthony, with friends in Launceston when he flew to Melbourne to play against the visiting New Zealanders. Toogood and his brother John immediately withdrew from the tournament, and left to fly home. The boy became sack last night, and died, this morning. The cause has not yet been determined.
