Owner Wins £1047 “The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL, Oct. 29 r SUper Arch P aid £loB 6s for a win and £l6 7s for a place in the Ridges Hack Handicap at the Wyndham Racing Club’s spring meeting on Saturday, his owner, Mr R. R. Heathcote, of Invercargill, won nearly a third of the pool on the race. Super Arch was having his second race in Mr Heathcote’s colours. I The pool on the race totalled £1915 5s on the win machine and £l7Bl 10s on the place machine. Investments on Super Arch were £lO on the win machine and £3O on the place machine, of which Mr Heathcote held £6 each way, worth a total of £1047 18s. The apprentice rider, P. W. Graham, secured his third success. Graham came from Riccarton and is now apprenticed to E. A. Winsloe. Super Arch’s win dividend was a record for a galloper on the Wyndham course. Trained at Gore by Winsloe, he was having only his second start as an eight-year-old this season, but he did not race as either a six or seven-year-old. Super Arch began racing as a two-year-old, when he had four unplaced starts. A second placing at Cromwell was his best effort in seven starts as a three-year-old. At four years he had 13 starts, winning one, the Ferry Novice Handicap No. 2, at the Wyndham spring meeting. Back to Wyndham four years later, he scored his second win. By Super, he is out of Regal Bridge, and was raced in his first four seasons by his breeders, Mrs M. Robinson and Mr J. Scott.
