Women’s Softball Christchurch Narrowly Defeats Hagley

In the second-round games in the Canterbury Softball Association's senior women's championship Christchurch came from behind in the last tew Innings to beat Hagley in a thrilling game. Kaiapol beat Monowal B and Monowal A beat Teachers' College. Results:— Christchurch 6, Bagley 5. Kaiapol 7, Monowal B 4. Monowal A 21, Teachers* Collate 6. Christchurch v. Hatley Both teams failed to score In the first two innings due to sound fielding. Including a good double play between J, Tlmmi and T. Tuhou, of Hagley. J. Irving began the third well tor Hagley with a good hit, advancing on errors and a fielder’s choice to score. She was followed home by C. Mullally after a hit by L. Honeyman and some good base running. Christchurch’s L. Parish, after a walk, advanced on a hit by C. McCormick and scored on a hard line drive by H. Johnson.
