FAIR KING IN S.I.

Sale To City Owner Fair King and Queen of Sheba, which were both purchased for South Island owners at the recent dispersal sale of the racing stock of the late Mr W. J. Pope, were brought south last Wednesday by their former trainer, G. E. Sexton. Fair King, which was bought for Mr A. G. Bailey, of Christchurch, has entered P. H. R. Andrews’s stable at Waimate. Queen of Sheba was purchased by Wright Stephenson and Company, Blenheim, as agent for a West Coast owner. Prince Pohara, which is also owned by Mr Bailey, is another addition to Andrews’s stable. He was taken south with Fair King and other members of Andrews's team which raced at Motukarara on Saturday. Prince Pohara has been spelling on a Blenheim farm since he fractured a sesamoid bone during the running of the Champion Hack Handicap at the Marlborough Racing Club’s meeting last April. He appears to have made a complete recovery from the injury.
