INTERFERENCE ON RADIO
Home Check Urged
Household appliances which might be causing radio interference should be tested by their owners, and if necessary fitted with suppressors, the senior radio inspector •Mr J. B. Dolan) said. “Under the Radio Interference Regulations. 1958, all new electrical equipment has to meet certain standards in this respect, and co-c; (ration by manufacturers and others involved has been excellent, but many of the older appliances are not suppressed.” said Mr Dolan.
“Anyone who suspects that an appliance may be giving trouble can very easily make a check by tuning his own radio off-station and observing the effect of running the appliance. If it is affecting his own radio, it is almost certainly doing the same for his neighbours. “Any radio mechanic or electrician will fit the necessary suppressors.”
