KINROSS AT RICCARTON
Light-Weight In N.Z. Cup
The New Zealand Cup light-weight, Kinross, was one of five North Island horses to arrive at Riccarton on Saturday morning. His Otaki trainer, C. A. Bo wry, flew south yesterday.
Kinross was in the care of B. A. V. Preston, who also brought two members of his own team, Shine On and Chevex, south. Shine On. a two-year-old filly by Summertime from Loch Gyle, will contest the Welcome Stakes next Saturday. Her stablemate has no engagement on the first day of the meeting. The other arrivals on Saturday were Fairassan and Gold Find, both members of F. C. Pratt’s team at Levin. Gold Find, which started her three-year-dd racing successfully in the First Spring Novice Handicap at Trentham earlier this month, is an acceptor for the Spring Plate next Saturday. Fairassan will try to improve a very good record at Riccarton on the later days of the meeting. He will contest the Jockey Club Handicap on the second day and the Churchill Stakes on the final day.
