SALVATION ARMY OFFICERS
Improved Training Started Improved training, beginning with pre-coUege studies, is being started for Salvation Army officers. Five divisional candidates’ boards are being set up in Auckland. Wellington, Palmerston North. Christchurch, and Dunedin for selecting and instructing young Salvationists offering themselves as officers. It is hoped candidates will be better prepared for th* year's intensified In-training designed to take in a normal two-year college course. Previously called probi-tionary-Jieutenania, the trainee* in all branches of the Salvation Army throughout the world ar* to be knows a* cadet-lieutenants. The 1961 Naw Zealand cadet-lieutenants will be commissioned in the Wellington City Salvation Army Hall, on January 20. with Commissioner A. J. Gilliard officiating. They will assemble early in February for training in the Salvation Army's college in Wellington.
