HARDSHIP TO OWNERS
Canterbury Park Withdrawals
The committee is concerned at the action of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club in taking withdrawals for the second day of its New Year meeting last season at the same time that it took withdrawals for the first day. says the report of the president (Mr W. E. Desmond) to be presented at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Trotting Owners' and Breeders’ Association on November 14.
It is felt that that action created a definite hardship to owners of horses, which won on the first day, and also to owners whose horses went amiss between the two days of racing. It is hoped the club will not take withdrawals at the same time for both days at its forthcoming meeting, says the report.
