Drivers Found Not Guilty
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct 27. Verdicts of not guilty were returned by a jury in the Supreme Court at Auckland today after the trial of Brian Anthony Smith, aged 20, a publisher’s assistant, ■on a charge of negligent ! driving causing death, and I another of failing to ascer- ■ tain after an accident i whether any person had ‘ been injured. i The charges arose from an ■ accident in which Lionel ' Henry Austin, aged 67, a i pedestrian, was struck and s killed by a car driven by Smith. i Another Auckland jury to- • day found William Ernest Harvision, aged 61, a com- ! party director, not guilty of ■ negligent driving causing I the death of James Deery on June 28.
