General Cemal Gursel today became the only candidate for the Presidency of Turkey after the resignation from the Senate of Professor All Fuat BaagU. who yesterday said he would contest the position. With hi* resignation, th* possibility of Professor B*sgil being the Justice Party'* Presidential candidate disappears. In a letter read to the new Grand National Assembly today, Professor BaagU said b* had resigned “in view of th* necessity I have seen.” Opening the new Grand National Assembly in Ankara today. General Gursel told member* that “hate* and grudges must be absolutely forgotten."
