Cheyenne In Fast Trentham Trial

“Ths Prsas" Special Service WELLINGTON, October 12. The Wainui Handicap candidate Cheyenne was the fastest and one of the most impressive of the final trialists at Trentham today. The Wellington Handicap runners, Donna Bella and Fair Filou, galloping separately, worked keenly over a mile. Both look fresher than they did earlier in the week. Fair Merit, which is in the Shorts Handicap, was one of the fastest sprinters and his time over the last three furlongs was bettered only by Donna Bella, and equalled by Expedite and Lucky Me. The work was in the middle of the course proper, which was firm and fast. Cheyenne (Beck) beat Magic Circle (Eastwood) by half a length at the finish of an outstanding mile. Magic Circle came from the nine furlongs and joined Cheyenne, which had a slight advantage along the back, increased It on the turn and held it to the finish in Imin 42 4-ssec, the last half-mile to 53 3-Ssec and the three furlongs in 38 2-Ssec. Top Lad (Eastwood), which will race later at the meeting, galloped with Sand Boy (Veitch) over three furlongs, which they covered unextended in SSsec. Francisco (Eastwood) was not asked for his best over half a mile in 51-*3-6sec. He was not at his best before he left Riccarton, but is picking up. Flying Time (Hampton), carrying a good weight, took SSsec tor half a mile and came easily over the final three furlongs in 38 3-Ssec. Prince** Donna (Bailey) showed speed over half a mile in 50 4-ssec, and ,her stablemate, Dame DonuHMen. also went quickly over Half a mile in 51 4-smc. the last three furlongs to 38 3-ssec. Glendale (Khan) came the last three furlongs of his trial in » 4-leeo and Dixie Girl (Leggett) ran an easy mile in Imin 51 4-ssee, but Increased speed over the last three furlongs to 37 4-Bmc.
