£250,000 FOR UNIVERSITY
Big Gift Made In London (NZJ’.A.-Reuter—Copurioht) LONDON, October 11. for the third time in a fortnight, a gift of £250,000 has been made anonymously to a college of London University, This time, the recipient is Kings College. j The previous gifts were to University College and the London School of Economics All are to provide men’s' hails of residence, and in each case, the donor has insisted on strict anonymity. The principal of Kings Col-* lege (Dr. p. s. Noble), who is also vicechancellor of the, university, said that all three colleges concerned had re. reived notification of the gifts on the same day, although the announcement had been dethe flo’drning body had been told. The gifts all had the same stipulation. and he had coneluded from this that the donor was the game in each case. "But who Father Christmas 1 is I don’t know, and I will make no attempt to find cut,’’ he said. One condition the donor made wa« that no attempt should be made to discover his identity.
