Canterbury Women’s Club. —The president of the Canterbury Women’s Club (Mrs C. Shaw) presided at a recent meeting of toe literary circle. A bell-ringing programme was given by 12 boys from East Christchureh school. The Rev. C. R. Sprackett gave a talk on. Hong Kong and its people. West Of England Women.— A talk on Eastern cities was given recently to the last meeting of toe West of England Women’s Association by Mrs H. Cranfield. Mrs M. Logan presided. English Speaking Union Fifty members of the English Speaking Union were conducted over a tulip farm at Ellesmere yesterday. The farm is owned by Mr N. V. Chamberlain, who explained the culture and varieties of toe blooms. The wife of the president of toe E.S.U. (Mrs S. Gill) arranged the outing.
