TO LIVE IN N.Z.
Major-General W. G. Stevens (A -Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 12. Major-General W. G. Stevens, chief administration officer with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force from 1940 to 1945, has returned to New Zealand to live. He arrived in Auckland with his wife in the passen-ger-freighter, Sonoma, tonight. They have lived in Hngland since the Second World War. General Stevens said he would probably settle in Nelson. where a son is farming. He and his wife were last in New Zealand when they made a holiday visit in 1954. A Duntroon graduate, General Stevens is a veteran of both World Wars. On retiring from the Army in 1946, he was appointed official secretary of the New Zealand Government Office in London, a post he relinquished in 1953.
