WORK ON NEW PROJECT.—Alfred Traeger, now 65 years old, is the man who invented the pedal radio transceiver which swept away the isolation and loneliness of Australia’s inland people, and made the Flying Doctor Service possible. Today, using the most modern techniques, Mr Traegar is working on a similar project for East Africa, where a Flying Doctor Service is to be introduced. His home is in Adelaide.
