SCHUMACHER’S APPEAL
Hearing Fixed For Friday (N.Z. Press Asm.—Copyright) SYDNEY. October 6. The appeal by M. Schumacher. against his life disqualification will be heard by the Australian Jockey Club's committee next Friday. The club’s stewards disqualified him for foul riding on Blue Era in the A.J.C. Derby last Saturday. Blue Era was first past the post, but lost the race, on a protest. to Summer Fair. T. Hill, the rider of Summer Fair, claimed that Schumacher had grabbed his leg over the last 50 yards of the race.
Schumacher has been granted permission to ride track work, pending the hearing of the appeal.
