Commanding Picked For Great Northern Guineas
"Tin Press' Special Service AUCKLAND, October 6. The performance of the Otaki colt. Commanding, in the Great Northern Guineas Mill be the main attraction on the first day of the Auckland Racing Club’s spring meeting at Ellerslie tomorrow.
Commanding has not 'yet raced at Ellerslie, but elsewhere he has shown himself to be just about in a class of his own.
The owner of Commanding. Mr G. S. Walton, has already won the Hawke's Bay Guineas and Wanganui Guineas this season with Castlerae. Commanding will be trying for his seventh successive win. Dry Martini and Kandavu appear to be the only ones in the field likely to make a race for Commanding. The T.A.B. double will be run on the Mitchelson Cup and the Flying Handicap.
