New Paeifie Cable,—The Federal Communications Commission has authorised the first ocean telephone cable between Hawaii and Japan. The American Telephone and Telegraph Company will Jay the 5500-mile cable by way of Midway, Wake, and Guam Islands. The cable will later be connected with a Canada-New Zealand-Australia cable to be laid by those countries.— (Washington, October 5).
