Press Association > WELLINGTON, October 6. “To ease the minds of the elderly would the Minister make a statement that anv transfer to smaller State houses will be voluntary and that tenants may be assurer' that they will not be shifted without their consent?” Mr A. J. Faulkner (Opposition, Roskill) asked the Minister m charge of the State Advance; Corporation (Mr Rae) in th? House of Representatives today Mr Faulkner said a paragraph in a letter from the corporation was worrying elderly tenants. It read- " When State tenants whc have been granted rental concessions are living in accommodation too large for their reasonable needs, >t is expec ted that they will, in norma', circumstances, be prepared >j transfer to smaller suitable State rental accommodation at a lower rent if the corpora tion is able to offer this."
