A. T. Bishop Returns.
A. T. Bishop, the Old Collegians’ left-hand batsman who was in Canterbury’s Plunket Shield training squad two years ago, has returned to Christchurch and is expected to be available for the club in the coming season. Bishop, who has been in Timaru for about a year, began his senior career in 195758, when he played -in only two games. In 1958-59 he scored 305 runs for Old Collegians at an average of 27.7, but his best season was 195960, his last before his transfer. In that summer he totalled 504 runs at an average of 33.6. He scored 120 against St. Albans and 105 against Lancaster Park. Old Collegians does not appear to be strong in batting this year, and Bishop, a young player with determination and concentration, will be a distinct asset.
