STEAK NOT FIT TO EAT
Canteen Caterer Fined £lO (N.Z. Prut Association) GISBORNE, Oct. 3. A caterer, Lionel Dunlop Currie, was fined £lO by Mr L. N. Ritchie, S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court, Gisborne, today on a charge of selling meat unfit for human consumption. He pleaded not guilty. Albert Mason Leach, said he ordered steak and eggs for breakfast in a freezing works canteen, but found the meat unfit to eat. He refused to pay, for it. Raymond Bain, a supervising meat inspector, said the steak "was musty, sticky, and not fit for human consumption.”
