Last Atlantic Crossing

(NX Press —Copyright) NEW YORK, October 2

The Cunard liner Parthia arrived in New York yesterday for its last Atlantic crossing as a Cunard ship. On its return to Liverpool it will be handed over to the New Zealand Shipping Company, to which it has been sold. Captain William Law told reporters as the ship arrived here today, 14 hours late after meeting severe storms in the Atlantic, that the crew was “very sad” about ths change of hands. A number of men would be retiring, he said, and this would be their last Atlantic crossing. Captain Law will go to a new post as relief skipper for the Cunard liner Sylvania.
