PUBLIC NOTICE STOCK (INSECTICIDES AND OESTROGENS) REGULATIONS, 1961 Approved and prohibited active ingredients and the names of registered stock remedies which are prohibited under these Regulations are listed below. All persons who are holding stocks of any—(a) prohibited insecticides, or . (b) other preparations containing a prohibited active ingredient and intended for use in cattle, sheep, or swine or at slaughtering places, meat packing houses, or canneries, must declare them to the Department of Agriculture. All farmer; will receive an explanatory pamphlet and a declaration form by mail during October. They are to complete this form and send it to the nearest Livestock Instructor of the Department of Agriculture and are to arrange for the immediate delivery of the materials to the same address. Additional forms and pamphlets are available from all offices of the Department of Agriculture if required. The Department of Agriculture will send individual notices to all stockists (wholesalers, distributors, and retailers) shortly outlining the procedures for the declaration and disposal of their stocks of prohibited materials. Any stockist who has not received such notice by 20 October 1961 should contact the nearest office of the Department. Compensation for materials surrendered will be paid by the Department of Agriculture. USE OF INSECTICIDES Insecticides. containing as an active ingredient any of the chemicals given in the approved list below may be used for the control and destruction of arthropod parasites or any other insect pests on cattle, sheep, and swine, provided they do not contain as an active ingredient any ot the chemicals in the prohibited list given below. (b) Insecticides containing as an active ingredient the chemicals djarinon, pyrethrin, and pyrethrin in combination with piperonyl butoxide or MGK 264 may be used in any part of any slaughtering place, meat-packing house, or cannery which it Mt used for the purpose of processing, packing, or staring meat er meat products.
