BROADCASTS OF LEAGUE

Assurance By Mr Kinsella (From Our Oum Reporter) WELLINGTON, Oct 3. Summaries of the New Zealand Rugby League team’s matches in Britain will be ebroadcast from the Christchurch, Greymouth, Auckland and Wellington radio stations at 6.49 p.m. on the day they are received. This assurance was given by the Minister in charge of B-oadcasting (Mr Kinsella) in Parliament today in reply to a question by Mr P. Blanchfield (Opposition. Westland). Mr Blanchfield had asked whether, because so many people were on shift work, the Minister would allow the broadcast of brief summaries three times daily; and whether “in the light of the magnificent victory of New Zealand over Britain in the first test” he would request the British Broadcasting Corporation to give a full coverage of the remaining tests. The Minister said he had already arranged that the 12 33 p.m. summary would be rebroadcast at 6.49 p.m. in the centres mentioned. He said the 8.8. C. had been asked to give a full test coverage, but that ’ was not possible because of other 8.8. C. commitments. Dieldrin Dips (NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON. October 3 The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Hayman), was asked in the House of Representatives today whether departmental scientists had conducted tests to show if a reduced concentration of dieldrin in sheep dip would eliminate residue in meat and simultaneously provide an effective dip. The question was asked by Mr L. F. Sloane (Government, Hobson).
