PILOT DIES IN CRASH

Plane Bursts Into Flames (NX Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Oct 3. The pilot of an aircraft bound from Wellington to Whenuapai was killed today when the plane crashed on a farm at Te Akau, near Raglan, shortly after 6 p.m. The aircraft, a Cessna 180. crashed through a fence on the farm of Mr H. H. Nuttall, and burst into flames. Pieces of wreckage were strewn over a wide area and the pilot was found still strapped in his seat. The name of the pilot killed has been withheld until positive identification of the aircraft had been made.
