Celebration Plans
(lt.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Oct 2. Waitangi Day will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 6, 1962, and the function will begin at 6.55 pm. instead at 6.25 pm. as was the case this year. The concert will come after the formal part at the ceremony and without a break. These decisions ’ were made at the annual meeting of the Waitangi National Trust Board at Governrhent House, Wellington, on September 26. under the. chairmanship of the Governor-General (Lord Cobham). An open invitation will be extended to the public to be present at Waitangi on the afternoon of February 6 between 230 and 4, when the members of the board will be present to meet the leaders in public life in Northland and all others interested in Waitangi.
