Ship's Giraffe.—The Australian frigate Gascoyne arrived at Auckland yesterday morning with the long neck of a wooden giraffe peering from superstructure added for research work. Because the structure is high off the deck it earned the name “giraffe house” and the wooden giraffe was presented ceremoniously to the ship by the dockyard workers.—P.A
