803 Pints Of Blood Given Last Month
Blood received last month by the Forth Canterbury Blood Transfusion Service totalled 80S pinta, Including 215 pints from the mobile unit. Blood issued during the month totalled 603 pints. Sixty-iflve new donors were enroßed, including 43 with the mobile unit.
In August, for comparison, 749 pints of blood were received. 497 pints issued, and 124 new donors enrolled.
From April to September inclusive, the bank received 4549 pints of blood, including 3229 pints from the mobile unit. There were 539 new donora. During the corresponding months of 1960, donations totalled 4757 pints and 649 new donors were enrolled.
Blood issued during the period totalled 3560 pints, including 1016 pints to the Christchurch Hospital and
1023 pints to the Princess Margaret Hospital. During the same aix months last year, the issue was 8417 pints, including 1811 pints to the Christchurch Hospital and 709 pinta to the Princess Margaret Hospital.
