Situation “Shocking”
(NX Prose AssoetetUm) HASTINGS, October 2. The situation concerning the renting of flats was shock tog, Mrs M. Parry. Auckland Western Suburbs delegate, told the Dominion conference of the Federation of Housewives in Hastings today. "Housewives shouldn’t be complacent, but should take up the matter strongly.” Mrs Parry said that tn Auckland £3 to £7 a wees was being asked for one room. If that room has only one piece of furniture, it Is let as furnished, and young couples have no redress,” she
It was decided to send the following remit to the Fair Rents Office of the Labour Department; "That the whob system of renting flats ba investigated, including methods used by accommodation buraeux.”
