Mr Kaoru Hara, the Japanese Ambassador to New Zealand, arrived in Christchurch yesterday on his first visit to the South Island. He called on the Deputy-Mayor (Mr H. P. Smith) and later attended a reception held by Christchurch residents with Japanese interests.
