Rangiora Ladies’ Club Titles
Mrs R. G. Edwards won the senior title of the Rangiora Ladies’ Golf Club for the twenty-third time by beating Mrs A. C. Fraser 5 and 4 over 36 holes. Last year the title was won by Mrs E. W. Ryde, but before that Mrs Edward had scored 22 successive wins. Mrs G. Simpson won the junior title.
Results were:— Senior Championship.—First round: Mrs R. G. Edward beat Mrs A. P. Cotter, 7 and 6; Mrs A. W. Murphy beat Mrs L. J. Walker, 2 and 1; Mrs A. C. Fraser beat Mrs R. Rolton at the twentieth; Mrs J. Vallance beat Mrs N. W. Archer, 3 and 1. Semllfinal: Mrs Edwards beat Mrs Murphy, 4 and 3; Mrs Fraser beat Mrs Vallance, 2 and 1. Final (over 36 holes): Mrs R. G. Edwards beat Mrs A. C. Fraser. 5 and 4.
Junior.—Mrs G. Simpson beat Mrs H. Fowler, 1 up; Mrs H. Escott beat Mrs J. Boyce 3 and 2; Mrs B. Eder beat Sirs J. Hirst by default; Mrs R. A. Milne beat Mrs D.
