Cultural Society
“Mountain Lands In America” was the subject of a talk by Mr L. W. McCaskill at a recent meeting of the Christchurch Cultural Society. The director of the Tussock Grasslands Institute, Mr McCaskill has recently returned from a trip to the United States. He illustrated his talk with coloured slides. showing differences between mountains. erosion and plant life in the United States and in New Zealand. Piano items were given by Catherine Fetch, and Mr Donald Smith gave vocal items accompanied by Mrs W, E. Olds. Mr P. A. le Brun thanked the speaker and artists. The president (Mr D. J. Hewitt) presided. About 69 attended.
