RACING Stakes At Randwick To Sky High

Sky High favourite at 5 to 4 on. won the £lB.OOO Daily Tele* graph Stakes at Rand wick yesterday with one of the most courageous runs in his success* ful career.

Sky High beat Columbia Star and Martelle Towers, and ran the six furlongs in Imin 9 7-10 sec. only 3-ssee slower than the Randwick record.

Sky High had to do the job at both ends of the race. A fast early pace forced his jockey, G. Moore, to make Sky High race to hold his position. The New Zealand horses. In the Craven Plate, at weight-for-age. Nilarco ran an impressive trial for the Metropolitan. Nilarco came away at the finish to beat the Sydney stayer Sharply by a length. Travel Or. was a length and a quarter away, third.

The New Zealand horse. Bargoed disappointed. running fifth in a race of six. Bargoed was last to the home turn. After the Trial Stakes at Randwick, owner Mr E. 8. Miller praised the perseverance of Dalriada's stable attendants after the grey scored a convincing win. Dalrtada defeated Icarus with Rancher third in the race. Mr Miller, a Sydney barrister, bought Dalriada for about £BOO from the New Zealand trainer, J. Didham last April. Since then the trainer, M. F. Anderson has had to patch up Dalriada for his races.
