RUGBY AWARD FOR CATHEDRAL GRAMMAR SCHOOL.—Mr R. G. Condliffe, president of the Canterbury Rugby Referees’ Association, presenting the Referees’ Golden Jubilee Cup to G. A. Williams, captain of the Cathedral Grammar School’s 6st 71b team on Saturday evening. On the left is Mr O. M. Noonan, chairman of the Rugby Union's junior advisory board, and on the right is Mr L. S. Hart, headmaster of the school. Although the school’s team was beaten more often than it won, its high standard of sportsmanship, smart appearance, and adherence to the rules never faltered. The trophy was awarded in recognition of this exemplary behaviour.
