Troops To Withdraw

(N.Z.P. A. -Reuter—Copyright) PARIS. September 30. The French Government last night signed an agreement for the withdrawal of French troops from the city of Bizerta.

The agreement provides for a return to the conditions which prevailed before the lighting between France and Tunisia in July. It was signed in Bizerta by the French Consul General and the Tunisian Director of Municipal Administration in Bizerta, reported Associated Press. French officials have said that this was a necessary first step to bringing the situation back to normal before negotiations could be opened on President Bourguiba's demand for evacuation of the French naval base at Bizerta.

French troops occupied part of Bizerta and positions round the port and town after fighting broke out with Tunisian troops and armed civilians oh July 19 when Tunisia demanded evacuation of ths giant base. The- Tunisians claim 1300 died in the fighting, said Reuter.
