Special Services In Gty
World Communion Sunday was celebrated yesterday throughout the Christian world by churches of most Protestant denominations, and was also marked by special services throughout New Zealand. Congregations at morning and evening services in most city and suburban churches heard clergymen make particular reference to the meaning of Communion in the act of worship The annual combined youth service in the Christchurch Cathedral yesterday afternoon, arranged by the National Council of Churches’ youth committee, was attended by many young people of various denominations. The service was conducted by the Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev M. G. Sullivan),, who also gave the address. Another special youth service to mark World Communion Sunday was held last evening at the Trinity Congregational Church. Worcester street Both New Zealand and Pacific Island members of the church attended the service.
