LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
1. Letters sent to the Editor for printing must be written in ink on one side of the paper only and writers must send in their names and addresses in full, whether they wish these to be published or not. 2. Writers must say clearly whether or not their letters are being or have been sent to other papers. 3. The Editor cannot return or keep any letter which for any reason is unsuitable for printing, nor can he acknowledge unsuitable letters, although this will be done where it seems to be needful, or enter into any correspondence. 4. Letters must not be of more than 150 words in length. Fu Fu.—You should complain jo the station concerned. R.N.W.—M;- J. W. Rowe, research director of the New Zealand Bankers' Association, says that the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (incorporated in Hong Kong) has a branch in Shanghai, and the Chartered Bank (incorporated in the United Kingdom) also has a branch in Shanghai. There are no British banks in Soviet Russia. The MoscowNa rodny Bank, Ltd. (a private company registered in the United Kingdom and established in 1919) has as correspondents in Moscow the State Bank of the U.S.S.R. and the Bank for Foreign Trade - U.S.S.R. These are apparently the only two Russian banks in existence and it would appear that the London-based Moscow-Narodny Bank is a de facto branch of the State Bank of the U.S.S.R. and the Bank for Foreign TradeU.S.SH.
