Ice-Skating CANTERBURY TITLES
I. McDonald Outstanding
I. McDonald, present national champion, made a clean sweep of the men’s events at the Canterbury ice skating championships. held in the Centaurus road rink yesterday. McDonald delighted the large crowd and showed distinct acrobatic abilities in the men’s solos. His Russian splits and combined axel to a sitting spin were perfectly executed, and drew applause from the spectators, Miss W. Grafton displayed grace and skill to beat the New Zealand women’s champion. Miss S. Jack, in a closelycontested solo event. Miss Grafton and McDonald combined to win the senior dancing titles.
The dancing and pairs events proved very popular. The fqrm and jumping of the intermediate pair. Miss S Bayne and G. Glover, were of a high standard Results were:— Women Senior Figures.—Miss W.
