Top South Bull
Mrs N. Collis, of Hawarden, sold the top priced South Island bull at the New Zealand Aberdeen Angus Cattle Breeders’ Association’s annual sale at Dannevirke this week. The bull, Ebony of Alcazar, winner of the third prize in the two-year-old led section of the show held in conjunction with the sale, was sold to I. S. Alexander, of Whangarei, for 1100 guineas. Another of Mrs Collis's bulls, Eros of Alcazar, also a two-year-old, was passed in at auction at 850 guineas and later sold for 1000 guineas. Mrs Collis purchased Yeoman of Cricklewood for 550 guineas from Humphry Bayly, of Wairoa, and Pearlstone 24th of Tautane for tile same price from Tsutane Stud, Ltd., of Waipukurau.
