SYNTHETIC FABRICS
Proper Laundry Methods
Because synthetics are easy to manage, it does not mean they can be roughly treated in the laundry. In fact, when handled gently they will give longer wear and retain that newly-minted look.
Synthetics should be washed frequently in handhot water—rather hotter for white fabrics—but they should not be boiled as this can cause permanent creases. Good soap or detergent can be used but bleach is out. Deal with badly- marked areas by rubbing them with a soft nail brueh before tubbing. Synthetics should be washed separately from other fabrics and thoroughly rinsed. Do not put them through the wringer, but drip-dry on non-staining coat hangers away from strong sunlight or direct heat A light pressing with a cool iron is all these fabrics ever need after washing.
