China And U.N.
Sir,—The lengths to which capitalism will go to obtain its dubious ends are shown In the United States-New Zealand action on China's seat in the United Nations. The latest unclean attempt of the United States to prevent what inevitably must take place is bed enough. It is much worse to think that our own country is a party to it Mr Nash could at least have earned respect of thousands of New Zealanders if he had been courageous enough to do the right thing in recognising China, but now it is left to the tender mercies of a Tory Government to make a recommendation. What a tremendous affront to our honour, though.— Yours, etc, PJA. September 22, 1961.
