L Letters eent to the Editor tor printing must be written tn ink on one side of the paper only and writers must eend in their names and addressee in full, whether they wish these to be published or not. 1 Writers must ssy dearly whether or not their letters are being or have been sent to other papers. 3. The Editor cannot return or keep any letter which for any reason is unsuitable for { (tinting, nor can bo acknowedge unsuitable letters, although this will be done where it seems to be needful, or enter into any correspondence. 4. Letters must not be of move than 130 words tn length. M.—No-one would quarrel with the proposition; but what is its relevance? Television.—Will refer the price auestions to agents. The cence fees and hours have been explained frequently. Elsie Locke.—We doubt whether a discussion here would add usefully to the author's appeal—lf such it was. It could have the opposite effect. Sumner Labour —You do not prove anything by defining terms in your own way and saying that they are incompatible. Others define them differently. Farm Worker.—No space for letters of this kind. The price must depend on circumstances; but obviously the wife should receive fair payment for her work in addition to the cost of the

food. Observer.—You still miss the point—that Mr Shand was in fact championing the cause of those who supported the principle in the Government s election manifesto and in the bill, and whose opinions the Opposition had tried to depreciate. Mr Shand’s use of the word “unimportant’’ was clearly meant to be ironic, and this was as clearly Indicated in the report by the use of quotation marks.
