The Sta*e Advances Amendment Bill was introduced and read a first time when the House of Representatives resumed yesterday. The House passed the following estimates, with the amounts actually spent in the previous year in brackets: National Roads Fund, £2,000,000 (£1,937,460); public buildings, £4,600,000 (£3,330,479); electric supply account, £24,000,000 (£24.695.884); transport department, £860,500 (£847,259).
