KIWI FOR SCOTLAND
Zoo Visit Bv M.P. (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Sept. 17. When an adventurous young kiwi took a casual stroll through a cow paddock he little bargained on ending up at Wellington Zoo awaiting a passport to Scotland. He will probably be flown there. He was visited at the zoo by a member of Parliament. Mr L. E. Sloane, on whose property he was found. "He was under-weight when he arrived.” said the zoo director. Mr C. J. Cutler “We are trying to accustom him to a more varied diet than just worms, as he will eat differently on the flight to Scotland." Mr Cutler said the zoo was “boarding"- the kiwi for the Internal Affairs Department, which intended to send him to Edinburgh Zoo in about six weeks. “It is taking him a while to get used to his new surroundings. but he will settle in,” said Mr Cutler. Representation. The Dominion School Committees’ Federation has supported Auckland and Canterbury School Committees’ Association claims that education board representation should be retained on university councils. Federation officers gave evidence on Wednesday to the Parliamentary committee which is hearing representations on the universities’ bills, now before the House of Representatives, which exclude education boards from university councils.
