-More Than 1300 Applications Bookings for the Milford Track walk already are higher than those for last season. To date. 1300 persons nave applied for bookings between December and March according to the district manager of the Government T.urist Bureau in Dunedin ’Mr A. G. Sincock). The heaviest bookings were from December 26 to January--26 but for other dates, excepting March 12. accommodation was available for trampers. said Mr Sincock. For those whose holidays come after January there will be ample accommodation and it is generally accepted that February and March are the best months for making the walk.” he said. The conditions for trampers. had been improved in recent years. Hot meals, clean sheets, and hot showers were now provided at huts on the track,” said Mr Sincock.
