Parliamentary Salaries

Sir,—So members of Parliament have voted themselves increases in salaries. When it comes to money, the whole lot of them are one United family. The greatest shame of all, in my opinion, is that the disciples of Karl Marx have done an about turn. They used to tell the people, as a whole, they were there to study the welfare of the taxpayer and the workers in general. What a laugh! Thousands of Labour supporters must be disgusted with their so-called champions. Where do they go from here?— Yours, etc., JAMES MOORE. September 15, 1961.

Sir,— The members of the commission which recommended increased Parliamentary salaries, in arriving at an assessment of worth, cannot have taken the trouble to listen to a broadcast session from the House.—Yours, etc., HUB AND BUB. September 15, 1961.
